An issue with picklists in metaData editing
Hi all,
Been ages since I had the slightest thing to ask about in Calibre, but I wonder if it's me and my setup, or Calibre that has the following issue: Using v0.8.6.2 on Win7 - I have a custom column called gmTags. It's a tags column and it's really just a genre column that I've created to manually decide on the main tag category. The pick list includes sf, Sports, Mystery, Medical, etc. I've noticed an issue with the last couple of Calibre updates, but only took the time to produce a thorough test last night. This is the issue: When I type in a letter in the custom field, say M, I expect a picklist to drop down with all the M's, i.e. Mystery and Medical. This Calibre does the first time. If I then use the PREVIOUS or NEXT buttons at the bottom of the metadata editor to move to a different book, typing in M in the field produces a picklist of the complete set of options, NOT just the M's. In fact, the issue exists if I repeat using items that are the only one with that letter, i.e. F for Fantasy. The case of the entered letter does not affect the issue. IF I switch to a different letter EACH time, the issue does not rear its head. If I enter in a sports book, followed by a thriller, then a mystery, then sf and then another thriller, the problem does not evidence itself. It specifically comes up during an extended editing session on multiple books and only when entering in from my custom column on consecutive books with the same letter from the picklist (i.e. sports followed by sf still produces the problem). I hope I've explained that well enough. Does anybody else have this issue? It wouldn't be the first time I've had an issue specific to my system. So I don't want to enter the issue into the bug-tracking system unless there are others in the same straits. Oh, and yes, I did a copy and paste rather than use the picklist when I entered in a bunch of books from the same genre to get around it temporarily. Thanks, GM |
