New user-Nook problems
I am having trouble reading books that I converted from Sony reader into my Nook, I uploaded them into the Calibre library, and then downloaded them into the nook..very easy. (Thank you Kovid) and then when I tried to open and read them on the N ook I got an error message: User not activated. Did I miss a step? How could I determine if the the SONY books are DRM protected?

Just try to view the books in calibre. If they are DRM protected calibre will give you a DRM error message. In that case you will have to first remove the DRM from the files. Google Apprentice Alf for that.
