Safe Amount of Files To Convert per Batch

Will Calibre get overloaded if you try to convert thousands of books in one batch? Or does it simply depend on your PC's processing power and memory?

I am guessing it would safer to maybe convert in batches of 100?

Thanks

I would go even smaller to avoid running out of resources (allow cleanup between jobs).
Other than having to attend Calibre, big batches don't gain much and if you run into one of those files that takes forever to convert... well.
BTW Set Windows auto-update to Ask when to do... If it fires off and wants a reboot you have to be there an click 'Later' every 30 minutes or it will kill your job and reboot if left alone

Actually, that won't work. I've tried maybe a few weeks ago to batch convert about 70 eBooks in one go and it was a big fail.

I've done conversions of a few hundred titles in a single go. It worked out okay.

When was the last time you did this?

I am going to try this batch conversion once more and see if it works or not.

Bulk converting seems to be fixed. It's still running, but it's not generating errors.

To be honest, if it works, then just set the bulk conversion going and let it run. Maybe do it overnight while you are asleep.

Yeah, I was thinking about letting it run all day while I am gone at work or at night while sleeping.

Thanks

I actually converted a batch of 800 recently with success. I don't, however, recommend it. I left it overnight, all went well.
