New Send to Kindle tool
I didn't like Amazon's tool, which cannot handle Web page content properly, so I wrote a new tool instead.
This tool adds Send to Kindle context menu option to Windows Explorer for easy delivery to your Kindle device. Additionally, it adds two context menu options to Internet Explorer: Send to Kindle and Save to Mobi. Unlike other similar online tools (Bookmarklets), it does all processing locally and does not require to add any third party e-mail addresses to your approved e-mail address list. You can send or save a highlighted selection or an entire Web page content. There is some basic format filtering, but there is still room for improvement. You can get it at: http://rakar-web.appspot.com/andrej/software/ Use it freely! Andrej |

MIT or BSD would be nice but any OSI approved license will do. We already have enough closed-source software to deal with from Amazon/lab126, please do not add to the burden. |

Sometimes it is easier to convince people if you use the right tool for the job.

Thanks, the developer community will also thank you.
Now, on to respecting the Intellectual Property Rights of others: The wget.exe you are shipping is licensed GPL-v3, you need to at least provide a link to where the sources are available from, such as: http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/wget/ I don't know off-hand what the license is on the mobigen.exe you are shipping, but it would be a good idea to provide source code links for that one also. Or at least a reference to where you got the copy you are redistributing. Just a couple more lines in your Readme.txt file should cover everything. Last edited by knc1; 06-25-2012 at 08:09 AM. |

Thanks a lot for doing that.
And this thread becomes good guidance for the next person offering their work to the Kindle world. Since it is your area of expertise, you know how easy it would be to establish a Kindle-botnet with these always connected devices. A little bit of reassurance from a brand new member is always nice. |
