Get title from azw file

Is there a way with Calibre to extract the book title from an .azw file?

What I am looking for is the ability to output the actual filename and the book title from .azw so that I can rename the file to the actual name of the book.

The reason for this is that when a book is "sent" to Kindle for PC, the filename is something similar to "B018B50737_EBOK.azw", and I want to rename the file to the actual filename.

Thanks,

Eric

If you import an AZW into a Calibre library, it will extract the title etcetera from its metadata. Or use the ebook-meta command with no options except the ebook to get a listing of its metadata.

When I look at the ebook-meta, it appears that it sets the title rather than retrieving it.

Also, I need to clarify what I want. I am trying to find a way to output the filename and the book's title so that I can then use a batch file or script to rename the files since I have more than 6000 to deal with.

Thanks,

Eric

Use the command without arguments to get all the metadata. Under Linux it would be easy to extract the title from this output, I'm not sure how to do this under Windows.
