Magnetic Cases for the Kindle Touch?

Hi, I am looking around for a case to buy for my Kindle Touch and have noticed that a great number of the cases I am seeing use magnets to close the cover and, I am wondering whether this affects the device in any negative way as I have heard rumors of magnets being bad for electronics before - does your case use magnets?

The type of magnets used on cases will not affect your Kindle in any way. Don't worry about it.

Ok, I guess that would make sense too - why would they out magnets in there if they were bad for the device right? Thanks

I had exactly the same question a year or so ago. I got the same answer (also from Harry T, if I remember right). I've since had two cases with magnetic catches. Needless to say, I've not had any problems, neither with the Kindle itself nor other devices that I carry along with it.

I suppose cases with magnets could harm devices that rely on magnetic means of storage, such as hard drives. Every e-reader I can think of uses flash memory, which is unaffected by magnetic fields.
