Today I went through the index of books on each of my ereaders to see what books I'm no longer interested in keeping on the device. Books that looked interesting 2 months ago that don't today get removed (all are backed up on my PC). I deleted twelve. I finally got rid of The History of Linoleum, Volume VII. I just lost interest. ![]() I keep about 150 books on my ereader(s). |

Yep. I like to do a factory reset and start all over every couple of months or so. It's like a brand-new reader for a bit. I have no books on my reader that I don't intend to read very, very, very soon.

I'm reluctant to clean up my books. I probably have 800 books on mine. I like them where I control them.

Nope. I keep my entire collection on my reader, sorted into categories.

All books are in one of the following categories: Fiction Non-Fiction References & Manuals Then some books are also in the categories: Unread OR Currently Reading So when I want to read something new I browse my Unread category, and upon choosing a title, I move that from Unread to Currently Reading - while also keeping it in its Fiction/Non-Fiction category. And when I want to continue reading something I'm in the middle of, I just open the Currently Reading category and choose from the 3-4 books I usually have on the go. With this system I don't find it necessary to ever clean up my reader, since everything is nice and orderly, and I rarely have to browse page after page looking for something. Yet if I do want to just browse my collection, I can easily do so from one of the three main categories. I suppose I could add a new category of "All Books" if I ever felt the desire to browse every single title, but for now that hasn't happened outside of Calibre. Last edited by K. When I get up to around 100 books on my readers, I take off the books I don't think I'm going to be reading anytime soon.

Yes, but usually it's because I'm running out of spacce or run into a performance hit from too many books on the device. I remove the wretched books immediately once I notice they are wretched.

I sideload newly acquired books that I want to read soon onto my Kindle a couple of times a month and every couple of months I delete the ones I've read and force myself to purge some that I haven't gotten around to reading to try and keep the number of books under control. This process started when I had under 300 and now there are 430 on there, so I'm not keeping up. I do read as many as 10 books a week sometimes, so there's hope. Let's not talk about the 1800 books that are in calibre.

I keep all my books in Calibre, backed up various ways. Only books that are TBR are on my reader. Once I've read them and reviewed them on Goodreads, then off they come to make room for more.

Once I get down to 50 books on my reader, then I'll load up the next batch... |

because I now only read on my Playbook (7 inch screen is wonderba!) I only sidelod current read + half dozen or so TBR.

All the rest are on Calibre. When I was still using the Sony 650 I pumped as many on as I felt like. I miss the dictionary access that Sony's got - because I don't bother to use an on-line dictionary when reading on the PB - although I could. It's not that often that I want to look up a word/s anyway - but it was convenient, especially some foreign phrases help. |

I have mine in categories, but eventually they get moved to my delete category & after a couple of months I delete the category. There are very few I want to keep on my reader for re-reading.
