Screen protector and stylus?

I did a little search but I couldn't find anything on this topic. I was wondering whether is possible to use the T1 stylus with a screen protector. I haven't been able to, but maybe I'm doing something wrong...

Thanks in advance!

I tried using a ziplock freezer bag over it (for waterproofing next to a pool) and the touch screen does not work with anything covering it. Luckily there are buttons so once the book is open you can read it.
I've never used a screen protector, not even on my old prs505 since I use my readers in a case. Is it really necessary? After 4 years of reading the 505's glass was still immaculate...

Thank you, Chantal! I honestly don't know if it's necessary for the T1 (I just bought mine recently). My previous experience is with Kobo (the Touch and WiFi) for which the screen protector is a must. I believe though they use different technologies - all I can say is that the feel I get from using the T1 is vastly different, particularly regarding the response time. Also, Kobo Touch looks like a forensic experiment in pawing after barely an hour of use, while T1 shows almost no fingerprints after half a day, so maybe the screen itself is different as well.

If you say that I should forgo the screen protector and use only a case, I think I'll follow your advice. Any suggestions for a good case? Thanks again!

Anything that has the ereader well away from the corners (centered in the case) or corners protected and closes securely so that it doesn't flop open if dropped. Should be hard/firm as well, not soft, no accessories in the opposite side to press on the screen when closed (some have a pocket for the cord etc...not good in my opinion).
I use this Verso cover with mine (many other colours/models available):

T1 uses IR beams that your finger or stylus stops for a so called touch. This is why zip lock bag doesn't work but thin screen protector clinging to screen will work. Look at edge of screen at frame and see little notches for IR light. Screen protector must end short of edge of screen so these small notches are not blocked. Because of the IR beams I can operate with out touching screen only breaking the IR beams.

I put a screen protector on my T1 and I can perfectly use the stylus.
