Moving purchased ebooks into Calibre

I have purchased and downloaded a book from Amazon onto my laptop computer. I can view the book on my computer, but I have no idea how to move it into Calibre in order to convert it and place it on my Nook Color device. I have searched for a downloaded file, which I cannot find on my hard drive. The Calibre users manual does not address this issue. Can anyone give advice? Thanks!

It is a drm removal issue. You won't get detailed assistance on MR, as it is against forum rules. People have often found assistance from a fellow named Apprentice Alf. Search is your friend.

Within the Kindle app, click Tools menu, then options, then content to see the folder where books are stored.

However, there is a good chance that the book is encrypted with DRM so it can't be moved to another device.

If you downloaded the file for Kindle for PC and opened it in Kindle for PC and you're using Windows, the file is most likely stored in a folder called My Kindle Content under Documents or My Documents and its name likely starts with B00... or some combination like that. Just import that file to Calibre. (If you have more files there, sort by most recent or something like that.)

Although, yes, as said above, it's probably DRM-protected, in which case Apprentice Alf might indeed be helpful.

Questions on calibre should be in the Calibre Forum, not the discussion forum.

Your thread has been moved.
