Kindle DX Web Browser
Is there any way to disable/remove web browsing from the Kindle DX? My kids like reading my DX and I'd like to encourge their reading but I can't have an open web browser on it. Does anyone know of a way to remove it? Thanks.

Does the experimental browser work if the Kindle is not registered? Try deregistering and see if the option for the browser is greyed out. Caution: You will lose the clock and the collections if you deregister, but the books on the device will stay there.

The web browser on the DX sucks. It is slow and barely works. I tried it once and was so frustrated I never tried again. Also, your kids would have to go looking for the browser. They would need to hit the menu, experimental, and browser page.
And it really does suck. |

FYI,
I think I solved my problem. I called Amazon Kindle tech support and had them turn the radio off. I can still buy and transfer content via USB but I have no wireless access to the Kindle Store or to web browsing. Thanks to those who responded with their suggestions. |
