Converting a PDF to another format and then to e-mail

If I convert a PDF file to another format such as e-pub or Mobi, is there a way then to extract the converted file from Calibre so you can send it in that format in an e-mail to someone?

If it can be done, can somebody explain the procedure on how to do it please?

Right click the Title: Connect Share: email to (this assumes your OS is aware of your mail client if not the usual ones).

Note the format sent IS the on set in Preferences:Sharing books by E-mail

If the method mentioned by theducks doesn't work for you (e.g. you use a webmail client for your email, ...) then the method would be:

1. select the book(s) in calibre
2. click the Send to Disk button to extract the files to a given folder on your computer.
3. Then, outside of calibre, launch your email client or access you email account via a browser (whichever is your norm) and create an email message.
4. Use your email's File Attachment method to attach the file(s) extracted in step 2.

dwig's way seems straightforward enough.

Could you give me a bit more information on how to do it your way theducks please? I was somewhat confused. Let me explain:

I right clicked the title of a book | I selected 'Connect/share' | next, I could not see what you stated as 'e-mail to.'

Instead, I got another submenu after clicking 'Connect/share' that gave me the four following choices:

Connect to folder
Connect to iTunes
Stop content server
Setup e-mail based sharing of books

I assumed it was the fourth one I needed. Is this correct?

This then took me to another window. There was a big white window and a thinner window pane that had the title 'Send e-mail from:'

At the right-hand side of the big window there were three buttons. 'Add e-mail,' 'Make default' and 'Remove e-mail'

At the bottom on the right-hand side there were three more buttons. 'Use Gmail,' 'Use Hotmail' and 'Test e-mail.'

This is where I got confused. If this is the correct window I should be in, could you explain in more detail what I need to do in here to send the converted file to somebody else by e-mail please?

I should just point out that I use 'Outlook' for my e-mail.

Thanks

HB
