New Tools work with Kindle 4 PC/Mac 1.9.x
For those of you who are friends or followers of Apprentice Alf, version 5.0 is out. Check the usual locations.

Note, however, that Amazon's new file format is still somewhat problematical.

The new KF8 format isn't problematic for the new Tools v5.0, but with the current version of calibre, as that hasn't yet been updated to properly read/convert the KF8 format.

The 5.0 tools seem to handle the changes made in Kindle for Mac/PC 1.9.x.

And for large Kindle files they seem to be a lot quicker!

Anyone have a link for K for PC 1.9.1. Mine won't update. Think because in the past I said to skip this update. The Amazon site gives me 1.8.3.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. (And keep a copy of 1.8.3 or 1.9.1 handy!)

Now might be a good time to grab a copy of 1.8.3 while it's the current download. Just in case.

(Of course, I have copies of K4PC going all the way back to 1.2.1, so it's not an issue for me personally, but for those who got caught this time, go grab a copy of 1.8.3, just in case.)
