Palm OS6 Upgrade

Does anyone know when PalmSource is releasing OS 6, and/or when/if it will also be available as an upgrade for the T3?

It seems it has taken so long for PalmSource to develop OS6 ;(

Yes it seems like forever, and I really want to upgrade my Clie SJ33!
I'm also wondering about the delays, and even am starting to wonder whether much is going to come of it at all. After all, most of the effort may go to smartphones, and I think that's all going along the OS5 path. I'm still patiently (sort of) waiting, but I'm not encouraged. Was hoping for more rumors at least.

There are some T|4 rumors around, so there's some hope. We'll see.

Yea, one rumor (supposedly a PO floated one at that) is that machines working with 16Mb of Flash ROM will be upgradeable. That's why many people are buying the T3 now (with hope!).

The other rumor is that they're working on a fall deadline for completion of the OS and that the TT4 will be intro'd along with it.

I'm actually curious if the OS6 will allow for "remapping" of the Status Bar buttons. I personally don't care for how they have the Precedence Order ... eg: Home, Find, Menu, TIME, Alert, Bluetooth, Graffiti Anywhere, Rotate, Virtual Graffiti.

But then, that is just MY OWN preferences. I still can't wait to see what they release. I want to read in depth just what it will offer (eg: the fine print) in comparison to OS5 and WHY I should upgrade my handheld.

Granted, there are a lot of things going for OS6, ... multitasking, a true file system, memory protection from program faults, and a lot of other things. But I've heard rumors (and for the life of me, I don't have a link to those at the moment) that they're also clamping down on DRM and some other stuff within the OS to limit what the enduser can do on it.
