take your kindle next to a switched on AM band radio.

switch on and do page turns.

you will hear a foghorn type sound lasting about 3 seconds during each page turn.this is due to high voltage driver for display.

do this now.


for a kindle screen which does not change or is defective you will not hear this sound or will be weaker or muted.

due to the high voltage capacitor going open or short circuit.

anyone who has opened the kindle located this high voltage capacitor and possible inductor?

can we we replace it or do a home repair for out of warranty kindles???
