SVG icon for Calibre

Is there an SVG (or other vector graphic) file for the Calibre icon? The raster image shipped with Ubuntu is being scaled up for alt-tab switching and it doesn't look that nice.

If you are using the Repository version of Calibre

Uninstall with Synaptic and use the Command line on the Calibre Linux page

to get the latest version.

You will need to use this line for every Calibre Update that you want. 8.42 is current

I have the Calibre trunk from bzr, it doesn't have an SVG icon. It has an ~100px raster icon and an ~550px raster icon, so I'd either be scaling up or scaling down.

No, there isn't an SVG icon. Simply use the larger raster icon. Scaling down should be no problem.

You are ahead of me then

I use the normal calibre distributions

Inline with Kovid
Scaling down is always better (for clarity) than scaling up

Would you be open to somebody creating an SVG icon based on the larger raster image?

Sure, though why would you want to do it? Rendering an SVG icon is actually slower than down sampling a large raster icon, so you dont gain anything by having an SVG version of the icon.
