Mobile gmail won't load!
Last few days(don't know 2-4) instead of my inbox, I get a couple of minutes of "spinning circle" and then an error.
"An application error has occured, please try to reload.." That's translated from german. And, of course, reloading doesn't work. I can still load the regular gmail page, but that's not really an alternative. |

Look's like Google has done away with the mobile version, The page I got told me to download a mobile version from an app store.
It could just be they are detecting the T1 is Android and not realising it can't download the Gmail app they are trying to push. |

Google is connecting everything (google+, google search, google docs, gmail, etc.) starting 1 March and implementing some pretty major software changes (at least that is what they say, don't quote me on that
![]() I would wait for the conversion to be completely carried out and then retry the app and/or look for an update. Just my $0.02... |

I had been thinking of setting up a gmail account so I could use the PRS-T1 to check email away from home/work. Since I don't plan to root the T1, it appears gmail is no longer an option.
Anybody know of any other possibilities for email using a stock (non-rooted) T1? |

I have been able to use the browser to read my gmail, it's not pretty and you have to be desperate to use it and for some reason the on-screen keyboard will not pop up if you try and reply or compose so it's overall pretty useless except for basic reading, haven't tried it with hotmail

I'm so glad I'm not alone with this issue! I first posted about it on Feb 25 here on MobileRead (I even posted a video in this thread). Policy of many forums that I frequent is to avoid opening many new threads so I thought I'd just join an existing discussion thread related to GMail. Turns out that wasn't a good idea.
![]() At the time I couldn't find any reference to this issue here, so I assumed (by the lack of responses) that I was alone with the issue and tried about everything I could think of (connecting to various WiFi routers in multiple places, switching GMail accounts, updating firmware, cleaning all browser settings and history, restoring the reader to defaults) So while I'm glad the issue is not related to my reader, I'm not sure how can I access email now? Is there an app that would work nicely on PRS-T1 if I rooted the device? |
