Is there any comics available on the Kindle?
With all the fab stuff I am being shown I was wondering if it is possible to read comics on the Kindle too?
I had a search on the boards but cannot seem to see anything for the Kindle. |

I've been able to convert several cbr/cbz to work on the Kindle using Calibre. And, they work fairly well since the comic is in black and white anyways.
As far as comics specifically for the Kindle? Yeah, I'm not sure. |

CBR is just a RAR file containing images that's been renamed. (CBZ is a ZIP). Most of the comic publishers have online preview images, you could save a few of those into a RAR or ZIP and make your own.
But you would be better off using one of those digital photo frames instead. |

I read quite a few comics on my Kindle 3 ... not perfect but doable ... If they are scans I've downloaded then I convert to greyscale 16 bit PDF's (with all the problems with PDF's !).
I've noticed that there are an increasing number of comics appearing in the Amazon Store ... some are simply color scans or downloads converted to Kindle book format so are huge files and difficult to read after the Kindle renders them as grey 16 bit ... some however have been pre-processed by the publishers (eg Classic Comics for scifi, mystery or Zane Gey westerns) which improves legibility ... but the limitation often being the 'fit to screen' max size of the comics. No doubt they display better on the Fire ... |
