My latest baby has officially been kicked out of the nest! Luckily, it's a vampire adventure so it should be able to fly.
Adduné: The Vampire’s Game is the first in a trilogy. The blurb for it is as follows: Join Miranda Perry on her harrowing journey into the dark world of vampires. In this three book series, Miranda Perry unwittingly becomes embroiled in a merciless game of revenge. She will need all her wits to overcome this ultimate evil as she battles to save her soul – and the souls of everyone she loves. Still shaken from the untimely death of her father, Miranda is forced to assume control of his business empire. She begins the arduous task of overhauling Perry Antique’s outdated cataloguing system. She soon discovers an object that her father hid from the world – a priceless, undocumented Fabergé egg. Its interior holds two rubies. One is a heart-shaped ruby – the other a marquise cut stone that represents a single droplet of blood. In attempting to ascertain its authenticity, she is placed in the crosshairs of a cunning vampire named Adduné. He becomes consumed with exacting vengeance for an unpardonable transgression – an offense that demands the ultimate punishment. There's a book trailer on my official website in case you want to see more http://www.wendypotocki.com/ The trailer takes a minute to load, so please be patient. Right now Adduné can be found in ebook format only on Smashwords. http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/40207 It's still in the conversion process at Amazon, but I will definitely let everyone know when complete. And in case you don't know, every third book my monkey gets loose so there are some erotic thrills to be had. That done, I proudly proclaim, "Let the Adventure Begin!" And ![]() |

Halloween Special
Hello everyone -
In honor of the noble, high holiday of Halloween, I'm offering my book for free ... nada ... nothing! The only thing that beats free is getting paid for reading it, but that ain'ta gonna happen given my present financial circumstances. Here's the coupon: MB75W And the link: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/40207 I suppose this is also a Lakshmi special. Yesterday, they held a wonderful celebration of the Festival of Lights down at South Street Seaport here in NYC. The fireworks were awesome! Think we should have a firework display everyday of the year, but that's just me. I especially liked it because they had one firework that exploded into a smiley face? Sort of like this one ![]() Hope you enjoy the book. If you do, please write a review at Amazon. We authors live and die by the sword of reader's opinions. ![]() |

Alas me and candy don't get on like we used to. I've been diabetic (type 1) since 1999 so I have to watch the sweets, but I do remember enjoying myself Halloween night when I was a kid going door to door in costume.

Oh, dear! Well, you're doing the right thing ... while I'm doing the wrong thing!
Used to love dressing up and going around the neighborhood. It's a great time of the year ... the perfect time to curl up with a good book .... preferably scary. At least that's what I used to love to read. I also love all the old great classic horror films getting dusted off and shown non-stop. It's just hard getting up the next day. |

Yes, the monster ones are great. I like the special effects. They're atmospheric ... and imaginative.
There are some low budget films that I saw way back when and haven't seen in forever. I'd like another look at those. Think they were done in the 50s. They had a very dreamlike theme going on and I enjoyed watching them. |

There were some good movies made in the 50's. A lot of spooky ones certainly, and some based on the idea of what misused atomic energy could produce. I imagine a lot of those old movies are out on DVD if a person knows where to look.

I would think so.
And, yes, very many mutant creatures. Like "Them!" Oh, and the English one with the big dinosaur? So nice when the mom claims her little lizard. They also had a lot about alien invasions. Loved those as well, but there was one about someone being hypnotized and going back in time? And one about fish people? I read reviews that panned the two films, but I remember liking them. I was pretty young so don't know what I think now, but they were kind of trippy. I also like some of Carpenter's films like The Fog and They Live. That one had the best fight seen ever! |
