How to view "Comments" metadata?
Hello,
The one thing I miss the most on any reader is the back of the real book, where I can find what it is about and the decide if it will be the next on my reading list. I have therefor input data for the comments metadata field on Calibre, which is really handy while in Calibre. The question is when I'm not home, I have a bunch of "to be read" books on my T1 but I greatly miss those descriptions in order to chose what to read. Having the cover displayed is of great help, but it would be perfect if, I could get a book summary easily without having to open another application or else... Maybe there is a mod that does it which I haven not found yet or maybe it could become a feature request for any coder here ? Any help on that topic would be much appreciated ![]() MrKay |

The Sony reader software doesn't do it. Not that I know of anyway.
You might find some android app to do it on a rooted T1. OR you might set Calibre up so that, when it sends books to your device, it wraps it in a "jacket" which basically means it will insert a page or three at the beginning of the book where it will put cover and complete metadata information (including comments). |

Another Calibre option is to create a catalogue of all of your Calibre books (or a subset if you prefer). You can create the catalogue in epub format and copy it to your T1 like any other book. There are optional sections (by Author, by Title, by Series, ...) which you can switch on/off as desired. The 'Descriptions' section contains your Calibre Comments. You can find the option in the dropdown menu on the 'Convert books' button.
If you do try this out, the epub will display much better with the default Sony app than with FBReader/CoolReader etc. |
