What about webserials?

I've recently become addicted to webserials They're fun, they're free, and I've found I really enjoy the format.

I've been reading:
"Worm," a YA superhero/supervillain serial at http://parahumans.wordpress.com. Each arc is novel-length and it's really heating up right now with most of the city destroyed and the Slaughter Nine in town to kill everyone while recruiting new members.

"Daron's Guitar Chronicles," a 1980s rock and roll chronicle following the life of a closeted gay guitarist in his up and coming band. http://daron.ceciliatan.com

Anyone know any other good ones?

I've been following the books by "Fel" for close to 10 years now. He's got some great books from both fantasy and sci-fi genres.

All new chapters are posted at http://forums.sennadar.com/

All chapters are posted in .doc format however one of his fans has a website with all of the books posted in various ebook formats at http://www.weavespinner.net/Worlds_of_Fel.htm

He's currently posting the story Earth Bond which is about dragons set in the modern world.

One of the most popular book series is the Subjugation series which follows the main character's life after Earth is conquered by an alien race. It's currently 4 books long with more planned.

The first set of books he wrote is set in your typical medieval fantasy period with plenty of magic. It follows the main character Tarrin Kael. If you like long epic books this is the series to go with, it is broken into two series, the first Firestaff series is 5 books long, and the second Pyrosian Chronicles is 3 books long.

To give some perspective on the length of some of his novels here are the number of locations of a few. If you don't know kindle measurements the average novel is 6k locations. Each book in the Tarrin Kael series is a minimum of ~15k kindle locations in length with some much longer. The first book in the Subjugation universe is ~28k locations.

Yikes. Using my averages based on mass market paperbacks, 15k locations is 900+ pages and 28,000 is 1,700+ pages.

I hear people say all of the time that when they start into one of the books they can't stop reading until they are done with the series weeks later.

For people like me who love epic length novels they are great, especially for the price of free.

Fixed that for you...

For the first series you said there are 8 books at a minimum length of 15k locations (~900 pages), even assuming that is the average length, that's 7,200 pages which is more than most people read in any time frame you normally measure in "weeks". It is mostly the length of the individual volumes that gets me though. It's just daunting to think about reading a single book that is 1,700 pages long. Maybe that is just my memories of having to lug around a 1,000 page novel before I got my kindle.

/Of course I am also the one who is reading the entire Wheel of Time series this year... which is 12,000+ pages and counting. But it's broken up into 14 books so that makes it better! Or something.

I've bookmarked all of these to have a look at later. How's the typos/errors in these stories?

The one story "Spirit Walker" seems to have a bad mobipocket link. The epub version seems to be available though so Calibre will be useful.

I can't see why I wouldn't include web serials as possible subjects of reviews on my indie review site, so thanks for this thread. Again, this site inspires.
