newbie questions ...

as you can tell from my questions.. i am a newbie to this whole ereading world and am just learning... for starters i am getting a kobo for my daughter..
but can only get it in a few weeks... today .. i just used the discount code to buy a few books for my daughter.. i think its sitting in my kobo account ??
what is the best way to manage all these books? if i get myself an ereader , not neccessarily a kobo .. can i have access to the same books or do \i have to buy others ones for my own ereader ?? more questions to come .... sorry for being such a newbie.

Yes, books will be sitting on your account. You can sync them to Kobo device automatically.

If you are using other device, you can download the book as ePub (with Adobe DRM). You can then use Adobe Digital Editions to manage the book and send it to other devices.

Other option would be to get rid of the DRM, and after that just copy the book any device you ever want to.

my family has three kobos all on the same kobo account, so we share all the books that we buy. The only downside is that when you sync, the bookmarks are changed according to what the other people are reading. As long as you don't read the same book at the same time (or sync while all reading the same book) you won't have any problems.
