Kindle - email vs copy
I'm just getting started, both with the Kindle, and with Calibre.
I have copied books (via USB) to the kindle. I have also emailed them through Amazon's server (at the special email address) before I started using Calibre. I think the following is true? - -If I copy the book via USB, it gets to my Kindle, but isn't in the 5GB of free storage that Amazon supplies. If I want to get it to my iPhone, I need to do more work to get it there. - -If I email the book, its on Amazon's server. Meaning that I can also download it to the Kindle application on my iPhone with no effort. Not to mention that I can archive it when using my Kindle. Do I have this right?? thnx... . |

Yes.
You'll also be able to sync the versions on both your iPhone and Kindle when you email the book rather than using the USB cable to transfer. If you only want the book on your iPhone you can email it directly there, your iPhone has its own distinct email address which can be found on in Manage Your Devices in your Amazon account. |
