Web server not updating when news have been collected

I am running Calibre on a Windows 7 machine and hosting the files on a Synology 211+ NAS.

I have set up some recipes to collect news from some newspapers every morning, but the Calibre web server does not update so I can browse to the page with my PRS-T1 and download "today's news". I can see that Calibre is collecting the news correctly.

I read somewhere that Calibre checks the time stamp of "metadata.db" to see if the web server content needs to be refreshed, but the time stamp does not change on the metadata.db file until I close Calibre. What do I need to do to make this work?
