Thumbs up Unexpectedly found a 350 in a local RS

Went into Radio Shack last night to get a car auxiliary audio device, glanced at their tablet & Ereader display and there it was, a PRS 350 marked down to $49.97. I asked the clerk how many they had left, it was unfortunately the only one (was going to get additional ones to set aside for gifts)

I couldn't resist it. It is charging and I will make sure that it works OK, if it does, my sister will get my PRS 300.

A good score. Bargains like that are few and precious.

I was able to transfer a library book smoothly.

I couldn't get the reader software to check for updates, I assume there is a newer FM available for the 350? will do a mobile read search.

Very cool. I just picked up a 350 for 80 bucks, plus a lighted case for $3.50! I love it. I was pretty choked when my beloved PRS300 died but I am loving this new one even more!

I've seen 350s going for between 50 and 75$ + tax. I would have got one, but when the T1 can be had for 118$, well... I'll save the cash for a T1 if I need one

Sheep: sorry your 300 died but glad you found a 350 at a good deal. The 350 was the model DD wanted initially, but they were no where to be found, even sold out at Sonystyle at the time. I'm going to miss my leather Sony case with the built in light, but my sis will get good use out of it. I don't have much hope in stumbling upon the great case deal you found, but I'll have to be on the lookout. I was wanting to customize covers for my case for fun anyway.

Rizla, we got our DD a T1 for her Bday, really nice device, she loves it. Personally, I like the 5" size of the 300/350, fits in my purse better. I also love the case/styling of the 300/350 models.

Mtid: I confess to rushing to the next RS, 20 miles away to see if they had any in stock, was hoping to get spares for gifts. Glad you were able to come upon the same deal

You remind me of the time I saw a 950 on clearance for I think it was $99. I fought the impulse, as I already have a 650, but regret it now. Drats. Now I stop by a RS hoping to get lucky but I think it's all gone.

faforza-you are right. I can't help but look at cameras, tablets & eReaders if I happen to be in a shop that carries them, even if I'm not in the market for one. lol

The audio jack that was the purpose of my going into the store in the first place is working great btw, I've been happily listening to a downloadable audiobook back and forth to work now, the PRS 350 is working great also. I'm going to gift my sister with my 300 this weekend and hope to fix a nifty protective case for the 350. I'm using the neoprene pocket case that came with my 300 for the little 350 for now.

I really like the stock SOny cover for the 350. Thin, leather/leatherish, folds back easily, cover holds shut with magnets. Simple, basic cover that protects well. You may be able to find one cheap now.

iLike "beespecked' I found a prs 350 for $49.99 (at my local Sears), I bought it to replace my prs 600 which I had lost the day before.
I must say it was the best deal ever! I would buy another at a drop of a hat if I found the opportunity.
The size is perfect, it fits into all my purses even in my pockets when needed!
I also found a great leather cover for only $10.00 on amazon.

What more can anyone ask for?
