Different apps for iPhone and iPad?

This is for those hopeless Apple fanboys who have BOTH an iPhone and an iPad .

Do you have different apps for both?
If so , what are your must have apps for
iPhone?
iPad ?

I have an iPhone, iPad, iMac, MacBook Air...
My iMac and MacBook Air are almost identical when it comes to apps and set up.

My iPhone and iPad could not be different. I do not play games on either.
My iPad hs apps used for reading, reading/editing PDFs, and apps like NetFlix and BHOP Go that I can use to watch something when I am away from home.
My iPhone I have apps that I can use to search for things... like movies and restaurants... I have apps for social networks like facebook and google plus, and apps for my bank and insurance institutions. It goes without mention the songs and movies on both.
There are random apps on both the iPad and iPhone that dont fall into what I have said up there but, for me, that is the norm.

Does anybody else have the problem of using two versions of Stanza (3.1 for iphone 3 and latest version of ipad)? I can't sync my ithings anymore because of overwriting.

Rachel, I have Stanza on both iPhone and iPad (iOS latest), and multiple copies keep appearing on my devices. I've had to delete up to four copies of each title. I have no idea why this is happening, since each device syncs separately in iTunes.

As to apps on each device, none of the PopCap games use the larger screen yet (and they look dreadful in 2x), so I tend to grab my iPhone for them. I didn't expect to read ebooks on the iPad, but find it quite comfortable to do so, and there is less page-turning required.

I use the same ereading apps on both devices (about a dozen of them!).

The issue for me is that I'm forced to use the two different versions of Stanza because of the inability to upgrade the iphone 3g to ios5, therefore I need to maintain 3.1 on the iphone. This gets overwritten if I sync my phone. I've tried removing Stanza from itunes once it is installed but The next time I sync either of my ithings Stanza is removed from the iphone/ ipad. I can't be the only person with this conundrum?

I don't think you are, Rachel. Most people seem to be moving on, though, to something else (I'm still hanging in there)... I recently sold my iPad but was in the same boat, in the end I caved and updated my phone again (a 3GS, and yes, I know that isn't an option for you with the 3G). Would it be worth just using a different application on the ipad, or phone? There's no real solution to the sync issue unless you have access to a second computer that could be used to sync just one of the devices, whilst leaving the other to sync with your main computer..

One solution to two devices with different software would be to create a second login account for the second device. I believe iTunes will keep the two accounts separate.

The accounts, but not the software. Ie, there is only one current Stanza, you can't run two different versions concurrently. This is a royal PITA

I used i2Reader on my ipod up until I bought a dedicated eink reader, it's a very good app in my opinion you can get books directly from the Calibre server or sideload them through itunes. I also liked being able to pick my own page colours, font styles etc it's very customisable although takes a bit of figuring out.
The reason I originally bought i2Reader was Stanza kept losing my books for some reason and iBooks kept moving my bookmarks about on it's own also not a huge fan on how iBooks wastes screen space.

I just unpacked my new iPhone 4S and synced it. I will need some time to figure out how to use it best, but for now I am assuming that it will be mostly useful for practical online information such as train schedules, metro itineraries, weather forecast... I unchecked most of my iPad apps for the iPhone because they won't be very useful with a small screen. Plus some apps have two versions so I'll have to decide if I really want to pay again for an iPhone app when I have it on the iPad already. Decisions decisions...

Well to me most of these apps are useless. I can't understand how far these "apps" can develop human life standards. Only good for nothing guys have enough time to install and try these apps. Majority does not need even these smart phones.
