first time question
I just downloaded Calibre and am about to install it.
I already have a bunch of ebooks, stored on my hard disc, with a directory for each author, and usually 1 but occasionally 2 books in each directory. I had assumed that I could point Calibre at the top directory and that would be my managed library. But maybe I need to start with an empty library, and import each book?? Does this mean that I need to store two copies of each book, one in the Calibre library, and the original?? suggestions??? thnx, |

Calibre will create and manage it's own library, and store all eBooks within it's own structure, using it's own naming standards, directory names etc.
You can if you like remove the originals after adding them to Calibre, but frankly, eBooks are relatively small and do not consume oodles of space. |
