Calibre-Conversion: Parts and Chapters
Hello everybody!
I prepared a text using OpenOffice.org 3.3. This text consists of two stories, both with chapters. I marked the titles with Heading 1, the chapters with Heading 2, converted everything to .html, then wanted Calibre to convert everything to .mobi, using the h1 as Level 1-TOC for the two stories and the h2 as Level 2-TOC for the chapters. In the resulting TOC, only the two stories show up, the chapters are ignored. What did I do wrong? |

Are there <span> tags inside the <h2> tags that are causing the XPath expression used by calibre to find the chapter headers to fail?
You did tell calibre which tags to use for the different levels of the toc, right? |

No <span> tags to confuse Calibre, and yes, I filled in the different levels.
But you know what, I just tried once more, this time thinking of the advice to "remove spacing between paragraphs" (which I might have forgotten the other time, I am not sure), and suddenly it worked like a charm. Can anybody explain to me, why it is important to remove those spacings to get a proper TOC? |
