Not sending .mbps or .mbp1 files
I'm generating a mobi file from html for my Kindle Touch. The mobi file looks fine in the reader. But when I send it to my KT, it does not appear. Looking at other files I have send to the KT I see that in the .sdr folder there are two files .mbp1 and .mbps. But in the .sdr for this document there is only a .apnx file.
Apparently the lack of .mbp1 and .mbps means the KT can't see it. When I email the .mobi file to my Amazon Kindle Library and then download it to my KT, I see it with no problems and it has an associated .sdr folder with .mbp1 and .mbs files (not .mbps) in it. Using Calibre 0.8.37 What's wrong? Last edited by bhoyt; 02-02-2012 at 11:02 PM. |

Those files are generated by the Kindle, they do not have to be sent by calibre. Your file is likely present, somewhere down the list of documents in the Kindle, or the Kindle decided to archive it.

Yes, the .mobi file is there in the documents folder on the KT -- I can see it when I connect to my PC with the USB cable. But the KT doesn't display it anywhere. I can only get it to display the file if I email the .mobi to my Amazon Kindle Library. After downloading via WiFi it is visible.
Something must be hiding it. |

Do a mobi to mobi conversion in calibre and then resend it.

Same result. It's there in Documents folder but doesn't show on the screen.
Funny thing is that most other files I have converted show up OK but these two large ones don't. |

I've done some more experimenting. 3 books I have built from HTML don't show up on my KT when I "Send to Device" or when I drag them from my PC to the Documents folder on the KT. But they do show up if I email them to my KT.
Everything works fine when I use "Send to Device" to send them to my K3. Seems like the KT is not making the proper support files unless I email them. These documents are large: 3.6 to 4.7MB. (Three different versions of the Bible.) Last edited by bhoyt; 02-03-2012 at 02:15 PM. |

Hmmm.... I just converted the same files on my laptop which has Calbre 0.8.35 installed and everything works fine! I can see the files after I "Send to Device".
