The answer is almost certainly 'yes', but you need to be a bit more specific. Do you mean fonts displayed in EPUBs? or fonts displayed in LRF/TXT/RTF? Something else?

Without PRS+ you cannot change fonts from menus on the device. With PRS+ installed you can add your own style sheets. I have a set of style sheets with different lines spacings apart from the desired font.
You can also embedd fonts in the ePub itself. I don't do that, because I don't want the same effects on my 350 as I do on my 950. |

The quick and easy method:
1) Install PRS+ 2) Copy and install fonts packages you like e.g. from my download page. There you find packages for altering EPUBS and one package for altering TXT, LRF & RTF. A. |

Thanks all - but is PRS1 suitable for Mr. TechDunce here ? I have managed to install the Black & Decker Cleansing Kit twice, does that kind of show enough technique ??
![]() I have been tempted before now - and I do have a 350 and a 650, so I could use one as a test-bed...... |

I would say: Yes
Installing PRS+ needs one great skill: to do a double-click for installing (download) Installing fonts (from my site) needs to open a ZIP-file and copy 2 folders Selecting the font needs to go into PRS+-options and select it there A. |

If you have a Windows PC it should be as simple as downloading a zip file (the correct one for your x50 model), unzipping it, connecting your x50 to the PC and double-clicking a .exe file then follow on-screen instructions. This is not like rooting an Android device, no technical knowledge is required. All PRSPlus does is add some extra very useful menu items to the standard Sony ones.
If you want to do a little research. this is the main MobileRead thread (its very long) and this is its Project page. Most people who do install it love it and the developers are active in the main thread. If you later decide it's not for you there is also a PRSPlus uninstaller for each x50 model. [Edit:] To customise epub fonts a little extra work is required to set up one or more text-based CSS files defining which fonts you want to use. This may sound difficult at first but there are many of us who can help you with your first one as a boilerplate. Once you've got that you can easily create more to use different fonts and/or font-sizes and/or line spacing and/or margins. Last edited by jackie_w; 01-26-2012 at 06:23 PM. |

I use Calibre to add an extra bit of CSS to change the font and also to ensure the text is fully justified. All done with one quick and easy click of the mouse.
Would I benefit from PRS+ in anyway? |
