Prs-t1 Wifi connection

I am new here and I have a little question about my PRS-t1.

I can connect it to free wifi and so but when I connect to my school's secured network which is described as "Secured with 802.1x EAP"; it keeps saying that "Cannot connect to this Wi-Fi network because the security method for this network is not supported". Is there any way to get through this error? Thank you in advance.

Sounds like you need to log in with a WPA/WPA2-PSK password to connect. You may have to check with your schools IT department for connection help. My university has help pages on the stuff. But my university also has a less secure guest account that lets you log in through the web browser.

EAP is enterprise authentication. It uses a username/password pair to authorize against a list of allowed users.

The 900/950 and T1 don't support WPA-Enterprise a this point, which is a shame. The Nook does.

Follow the instruction to root your T1 and then use the original android settings app to configure the wifi connection.

I gave up on finding an answer until I hesitantly tried this, and to my surprise, it worked.

I also rooted my device - and I can connect using the Android settings to my school's secured wifi now
