Importing metadata removes device match

I import books from my Kindle Touch device to my Calibre library and there is a checkmark in the "On Device" and "In Library" reflecting the match. However, when I download the metadata for that book, it often modifies the book title and/or the format of the author's name, as well as changing the folder name and/or filename on my computer. This causes the matching checkmark to go away since there is no longer an exact match. Is there any way to prevent this or correct it without manually changing the metadata?

You can customise the Metadata download to NOT change the Title (or any other selected field).

Duh! Obviously I didn't research the Preferences as thoroughly as I should have. Thanks for pushing me in the right direction.
