reading lists

What is the formula for putting in the search box for books where the selection in the Read column (custom column I set up) equals no?

I tried read=no, but that didn't return any responses.

I'm really new to formula in the search box, so I'm truly not sure how it's done.

and once again, I thank everyone who has patience with this non-technical newby.

For user defined columns the lookup name starts with a # mark.

I can't watch videos - we live out in the country and have metered internet. But I'll spend more time with the online documentation, too.
