I'm new to this.

hope I'm in the right place.
Just joined today, and am a little confused.

I am storing a ton of books on my Sony PRS-T1, but some covers are not being copied.
I am using Calibre to transfer my ebooks.
Some don't have covers so I downloaded them using the "edit metadata"
I checked and found that the limit is 99.
Is there any way around this.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Will try posting a question somewhere else as well.

Thanks

Joe

Welcome to MR!
What I do after changing the cover using "edit metadate" is converting the book from epub to epub. After that the new cover stays on the book and gets copied to the reader ok.
There might be an other way, but you'll have to aks Calibre-wizards in the Calibre sub-forum.

Happy reading!!

I will second that advice. To change the cover you need to rebuild the ePUB. Calibre makes that easy

As above to get your selected cover into each epub.

However, you may also like to know that if your main concern is that the T1's thumbnails match the cover you have in Calibre, then you can edit the Calibre device driver for the PRST1, found via Preferences - Plugins - Device Interface - PRST1 - Customize. Just make sure you check the box 'Upload separate cover thumbnails for books'.

This will create the T1 thumbnail as your Calibre cover for every book you send-to-device. It works for all formats (epub, pdf, txt) DRM or non-DRM.

It is a really really BAD IDEA to use Calibre to convert ePub > ePub. You can get some really unexpected results that you don't want and it changes the code so if you ever want/need to dive into the code, it might not be as easy to do as it was before the conversion. If you want to change the cover image in an ePub, use either Tweak ePub or Sigil.

@ Joe: My pleasure
@ JS Wolf: Lots of people over here are converting from epub to epub without problems. A typical e-reading person would not want/have to dive into the code.

In most cases, it's just a matter of downloading a new cover image, finding the old cover image and copying the new cover image over the old cover image. Not hard at all.
