I think the coolest use might be the "Augmented" real world idea. It might be like the
commercial where the note pointing to a restaurant or shop hangs in the air. Of course this is sounding a lot like the HUD that fighter pilots have been using for some time now. For a reader, PDA, smartphone, laptop replacement, ect... - But - you have to keep a lookout for Cybermen! Luck; Ken Hmm... if it had facial recognition? It would sure help with a failing memory for faces. Last edited by Ken Maltby; 01-11-2012 at 01:05 PM. |

I could see something like that for video games, like some kind of HUD or something. Make you feel like you're some space-marine and you're "in" the game. I mean, it'd take some real stream-lining, and I wonder how bad that would be on the eyes...but I think it would be interesting.

I was thinking about my favorite escapist novel while standing in queue at the chemist shop. But the memory thing might … uh? What was I saying?

I can see it now -- it will become the latest craze among automobile drivers. Watch their favorite action movie while tooling down I-95. Auto insurnce rates will skyrocket and Democrats will want to ban the devices and teenage drivers while Republicans will want the marketplace to determine whether they constitute a driving hazard. That will be the #1 issue in 2016.

Oh I think the politicians would love it, they could look out over a crowd of supporters
and see some with $ floating over their heads. (Not that they don't do that already.) With the facial recognition, they could spot reporters and see how they are likely to treat them. They could recognize every constituent and be able to tailor their response to that individual's concerns. They could spot the operatives from opposing candidates. The list would go on and on. Luck; Ken |

I think we'll get one more round of improved B&W e-ink screens before moving on to color.
