PRS-350 Anyone ever found a replacement battery?

Question:

Did aynone ever found a replacement battery for the PRS 650 or PRS 350?

This units are worth to give them new power when the battery will die some day. But searching the internet gave no hint where you can grap one. In comparision - there are no problems so far for the older 505.

Keen to know too. I think I'll sit out this years new ereaders as the 650 is better then them all. But I may need a new battery on the way. Any suggestions welcome.

I did a search in the forum. Maybe I'm blinded - but I cannot find threads about that topic. Just threads handling questions concerning problems on battery train.

The YouTube-video describes changing battery for the PRS600. No battery-whatever-shops I found over the internet sells something for the PRS 650 or 350 so far.

Wait until your battery is really bad.
Maybe they are available at that time.
Otherwise you can try a prs600 battery. (Ebay)
There is a good chance that they are the same

They are not the same.

This was discussed a while ago, and someone took pictures of an opened up 650 showing the battery info.

You will always be able to send it to Sony to replace it of course - might be pricey, but depends how much you love it I suppose....

- Of course I would/will wait until the battery is on the edge of it's lifetime
- Sony's service is far too expensive compared to the costs of a new reader. On the other side with PRS+ my beloved 350 is becomming more and more a perfect irreplaceable tool...
- I see that no battery obviously is available. Time will tell, but I don't have much hope as readers become cheaper and cheaper.

How long do these batteries usually last? My 350 is fine so far -- just wondering when the battery will konk out.

I'm afraid that before you have to replace the battery, you have to replace the PRS itself. Mine lasted for 6 months and already I had to send it in for a replacement since some buttons stopped responding. Duh!

That's bad luck.
Quality of the buttons differs between my two 350. The blue one feels much better: buttons don't wiggle, bushing feels very exact. One the solver one buttons partly feeling more loose and less qualitative.

Do you know: was it the mechanic of the buttons that fails or something electronical. Latter one always can happen, first one could be error by design.

For those who need confirmation, the product description of this Gomadic pack states it can be used either to recharge the internal battery or power the 350 when the internal battery isn't working:

Haven't found an internal battery replacement for the PRS-950 yet, but here's a battery pack (I'll look for a better price later):
