Uncommon Grounds by Sandra Balzo (SYKM) is the 1st in her Maggy Thorsen series of cozy mysteries centred around the titular Wisconsin coffee shop run by the eponymous divorcée ex-PR executive, this installment the obligatory setup for the actual coffee shop business, which runs into complications with the obligatory murder of one of the potential business partners, free courtesy of author republishing consortium NYLA, who are e-printing it from its 2005 Five Star hardcover.

This has been a finalist for both the 2005 Anthony & Macavity Award in the Best First Novel category, according to SYKM, and is also part of a current iTunes Canada promo feature for 1st-in-series books (and one of the handful that don't appear to be purely self-pub).

Currently free @ iTunes (available to Canadians and many countries worldwide when I spot-check), and thence price-matched @ Amazon (available to Canadians & in the UK, and probably other locales where you can do Report A Lower Price).

If you happen to like this one, it appears that the backlist reprint sequels under the NYLA aegis are couponable @ Kobo, as well as specially discounted at iTunes (may or may not be price-matched elsewhere).

Patricia Harper is dead, killed by a hot-wired espresso machine, in Uncommon Grounds, her very own gourmet coffee store! Maggy Thorsen wants to know who killed one of her partners.
