Browser pages too "grey" ?
Does anyone else find the T1 browser pages print too "grey" in most light conditions ?
I have great difficulty making it out - can the font be darkened/enhanced in any way? It's a bit better sized up, but I have to say, I'm a bit useless on the pinching lark, I never seem to get it right before 5/6 attempts ! ![]() |

Double-tapping on the screen will zoom the page. But I know what you mean, the browser is... what the browser is. I don't use it for long. But it's good to have when you need to "check something quick" type moments.

Remember it's still only e-ink, which means rendering all browser pages in black and white. A lot of times it will appear washed out because of that. Even adding some images for covers to the reader first need to be "enhanced" by upping the contrast, adjusting brightness, etc., or else they also appear washed out.

It maybe simply comes down to the fact, that most pages are not created for B/W screens. As soon as you view a page, which has a colored background or font, the reader will render it to some shade of grey.
Most of the very popular pages have a mobile version (google, facebook, etc.), which works fairly well on the T1. Large pages can be a bit difficult. It still is one of the best browsers on an 6" ereader out there. (For fun I just tried the browser on the PB302. Believe me, you really don't want that browsing experience). |

I don't know if anyone has tried this with their 'root' T1 but Dolphin Browser has a plugin called "Dolphin Reader". What it does is display the page in a reader friendly format by taking away some of the page original style (i.e., removing the background color and images, etc.) It also has 3 viewing modes (Normal, Night Mode, and Olive).
The text font size also get reformat into a more readable size as well. Maybe someone who owns a T1 can try it out. Last edited by OrcaBlue; 12-06-2011 at 01:46 AM. |
