Removing annotations

I have a book I've finished and closed in my reader from which I want to remove some annotations (highlights) that I made just playing around. Apparently this can be done in the reader Settings with "Clear Local Data". However, when I go to do that, I'm warned that it will also remove all my imported books. What???!!! The majority of my books are imported, so to clean up one book, I have to lose most of them and then import them all over again? Surely there is a better way. If not, that's another shortcoming of the Vox that needs to be fixed.

Okay, I just went back into the above book to see if there's any way to remove annotations from within the book. When I touch the middle of the screen, the slider and settings button footer appears, the header with the library button, open book, chapters, information and annotation icons comes up, and the chapter, page and % into book box comes up and then fades away. What has changed is that when I touch one of the three icons at the right end of the header (chapters, information, annotations), I get the following error message:

Sorry!

The aplication Kobo (process com.kobobooks.pegasus.android.) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

[FORCE CLOSE]

This does not happen with other books, just this particular one. The trouble is that this is not just any book, but one I purchased from the Kobo Store. If I delete the book, will the Kobo Store give it back to me?

I have it in Kobo Desktop on my PC also. If I delete it from the Vox and go to Kobo Desktop and synch, will it put the book back in the Vox, or remove it from Kobo Desktop as well?

Is this a bug I should report in the sticky bug thread?

Reader Paradice just did a post about "If you can't read a book" that explains about deleting books and then getting them back on your reader...it's a few posts down from this one.

Well, lo and behold, I went and re-read Reader Paradice's post, turned the WiFi on in my Vox and got ready to do what he said, then I opened the book in question to confirm I was still getting the error message. Everything worked fine, no error! I just had to try again much later.

Now all that remains is figuring out how to remove the annotations without losing my imported books.

You can long press on individual highlights/annotations to remove them from a book, but there is no way (currently) to remove all highlights.

Thank you, thank you! That's actually all I was looking for and it worked.

Maybe some time down the road the user manual should be updated to include all these tricks, or maybe just a sticky in this subforum.
