Rooted Nook doesn't see books on SD Card

I had this in the Calibre section and they suggested I try here instead.

I rooted my Nook Color with a 16GB card running CM7.

While in android, I connected the NC to the PC and used Calibre on the PC to send books to the SD card (13.3GB), which Calibre thinks is main memory (I"m using Calibre 08.28, but it STILL has the Nook memory and SD card reversed, so in Calibre I sent the books to main memory).

In Android I verified the books are in the My Files/Books/<author>/books folder tree in the 13GB partition. I also verified there are no books in the Nook's memory. I can use Aldiko or cool reader, see the books, read the books, everything's fine.

BUT, when I boot back into a standard Nook Color and go into the library I can see both main memory and a "Memory Card". BUT, on the "Memory Card" I don't have any books. I connected the Nook to the PC, and in Disk Management I can see the "boot" partition on the SD card, which is about 118MB instead of 13GB. So, it appears I'm seeing two different partitions on the SD card.

Is it possible to have the Nook see the same partition - the 13GB one, ALL THE TIME? If so, what do I need to do to get this to work?

Unfortunately it's not possible. The nook color expects a single partition on the SD card and hence can't see your second partition where you have the books.

So did I do the rooting wrong?

When I book android from the SD, is it booting from the "boot" partition or the two partitions that come next? There are 4 on the SD, and the last one is the 13GB partition. Do I need to somehow make the little, 118mb, partition called "boot" into a 13GB partition?

Or is it just not doable so I can go back and forth between android and Nook and read the same books in the same location?

It's just not doable, there is nothing wrong with your SD. If you connect the SD card to a windows PC you will also see only the boot partition, but you can see them all on Linux.
As far as I know, you can't share the books by storing them in the SD card; if you need to have your data available on stock software and SD card software, consider cloud or NAS storage, but that implies rooting your nook color.2

Ah, ok. So I didn't do it wrong, it's just one of those things that doesn't work that way...

No big deal.
