A very very short collection...

So I have about 1/2 dozen or so poems that I was thinking about putting out as a free ebook... do you think that is to small? Are there places to submit that kind of work that would be better? Other thoughts?

Most poetry collections (chapbook style) average about 30 poems from my research. If you are planning on giving it away free, I don't think it matters but if you plan on selling, then better to "match the competition" IMO.

Most places that publish will only publish one or two for a given issue unless you are in a 'featured' section.

Of course it could depend on the length of the poetry. Something the size of the Iliad could probably be published on its own.

You just need to pad out what you have with some connecting stories about young, sexy vampire-wizards whose tale provides clues to the location of a gem-studded golden porcupine which you have hidden in a field somewhere. Make it clear the porcupine is into BDSM.

How about getting some friends to post some of your poetry on their websites? I had never thought of this until I read your thread, but if I had a friend who was into poetry, I probably would post his/her stuff on my website.

What about www.bookrix.com/ ?
Nearly anything is free and, somewhat strange, many of those books got reviews the same day the book had been uploaded. So this may be also a place for some self-promotion. The smalles 'book' with poetry has just 1(!) page.

Never heard of it. Will have to check it out.

I was thinking of doing this just as "well its been a while since my last book, and current one is while off... so I could do a mini release of something just to remind everyone I exist" kind of idea.

Might be wiser to pick the two best and find some place to submit them.
