Demo feature usage in MobiPocketCreator

Hi,
I'm very much a a newbie with 1st pub in progress.
I've been learning kindlegen and mobiPocketCreator.

MPC seems much easier (so far) but I'm not clear on the part that sets up a demo book. It seems to me I need to generate another book completely that is in fact an extract of the full book itself?

If that is the case, then looks like I just have to mention that 2nd book in the MPC build process and... well can't see what happens after that. At publication time will I be asked to upload the .prc for the book and the demo (as well as the two associated .ofp files)

Thank you for any help with this

ps I'm not so keen on using the default that just displays the first 5% of the book - but may well use that if this gets too complicated.

The demo option for MOBI books has been discontinued, usage-wise, if you are thinking of Amazon. And Mobipocket's closing its doors. So there isn't any place for the olden "demo" file anymore.

yes that does indeed help.
Seems I'm using out of date information (a lot of it out there :-) )

Can I still use mobiPocketCreator to actually build the book (generates a .prc and .opf files) - for upload to Amazon bookstore? I have it all working fine - but if I can't use the output it's all a waste of time.

Am pretty naive about all this - I though Amazon was the place "most" authors placed books with :-)

Oh, yes, absolutely. No problem. It's only the demo feature that was discontinued. Continue on! ;-)
