Peter Wimsey fan!

I started as member, because I found so many of Dorothy L. Sellers books.
I have collected all her novels about Peter Wimsey - except "Have his Carcase".
I have a Kindle and do not want to pay for the book.
Can anybody help me and explain, why this particular book is not available as a free download.

Dorothy L Sayers died in 1957. Her books are not out of copyright in the EU and most of the rest of the world until 1st January 2028.

Her Lord Peter Wimsey novels were all published after 1922. I believe they were all renewed correctly at the US Copyright Office, and so are all in copyright in the US until at least 1st January 2019.

Any of her books that you've obtained as free downloads are almost certainly unauthorised 'pirate' copies.

[EDIT: I have rightly been taken to task for the tone of this message. There are countries with Life+50 copyright laws, of which Canada is one, and is where the MobileRead servers reside. For people in Life+50 countries, downloading free copies of her works is entirely legitimate. I do apologise for jumping to conclusions.]

I of course do not want to make a pirate copy. I downloaded most of Dorothy L. Sayers books here from mobileread and two from Project Gutenberg, which both are legal sites.

That is the reason I asked about this book, which was written at the same time as those books.

Yes, The MobileRead servers are in Canada, and Canada still has life+50 copyright, so her books came out of copyright in Canada on 1st January 2008.

If you are also in Canada, or another country with life+50 copyright laws, you are, of course, allowed to download.

The only reason Have His Carcase isn't in the MobileRead Library is because no-one's created it and uploaded it.

I went to the thread, you suggested, but there was an "Old Thread Warning" and a suggestion, that I start a new thread.
I am new in this, and do not know, how to do it, so I suppose, I must wait and hope there are other Peter Wimsey lovers out there, who will download "Have his carcase".
