Why battery life began shorter?

i have a kindle 3 wifi with special offers..

i have installed
jailbreak
font
screensaver
launchpad
cool reader

and updated the firmware from 3.2.1 to 3.3, but in firmware 3.2.1 i installed all the jailbreaks too.

i started to read the books which are in foreign languages
so i use dictionary a lot.

while i was reading books on my origin language, battery life was 2 weeks.
but now my battery life is 3 days?

what is the reason of the battery life reducing*

p.s. i have 1330 books in my kindle

what dou you think about this battery reducing???

Maybe there is a book stuck in the middle of indexing. I had this issue after I loaded about 20 books via Calibre on my KK.
Here is what I did: In Home screen enter kdltr and "search my items" on your device. Of course it does not find anything. If it states "no items" then you problem is different to mine and I can't help you. If you find a number of items/books, even after some time, you can be sure one of the books is stuck. You have to delete it. Which one, I don't know and you don't know. I deleted all of them and loaded them on the kinlde again. After a while indexing is done. And you have "No Items" after the search "kdltr".

Good luck.

With that many books being added, I can't help but wonder if the indexing isn't helping things. I mean, it wouldn't be a permanent thing, but it'd be a persistent battery drain for a while until it was finished indexing everything.

Please check the indexing status from time to time. When it shows the same number of books for awhile then a book may be stuck!

Yes, this is almost without doubt an indexing issue.

You can suit yourself entirely; it won't affect the Kindle's battery whether you wait for the "low battery" warning, or top it up every day.

I always plug my Kindle in when it's indexing several books. This saves me from losing battery life. I am still on my first charge on my K4 so I am waiting for it to run down before I fully charge it.
