Just bought my PRS-505SC!!

I am new to this forum, sorry did not see a welcome thread so I posted here.

Wew! I just bought a PRS-500 at Shopko, discount store in Wisconsin based out of Greenbay 2 days ago, man am i glad I found out that the new 505 came out and I found them online for $279. So had my wife run and return my 500 back to shopko where I thought i had a good price of $250, but $279 for the new version is awesome.

Then I called my local Best buy and they said they would order for me for the same price, and deliver free to my home. So that was not a bad deal.

So saying hi to everyone, if anyone has any must haves that I would need for my new reader please let me know.

You had your wife run for you? Man, how did you do this? I keep trying, but all I get from my girlfriend is a kick in the butt!

I had a similar situation last weekend. Costco has the PRS-500 for $299, and I've been wanting to try one out to see if it was suitable for PDF's of comics and pulp magazines as well as old classic science fiction and fantasy stories from ManyBooks.net. Since Costo has a liberal return policy, I decided to give it a try.

After a day of fairly satisfactory results with the PDF's and excellent results with online resources, I found out about the 505 and started investigating its features and it sounded like a better reader at the same price. Of course, finding out that the Sony store offers it for $199 with a new Sony card account sealed the deal. The 500 is going back and the 505 should be here on Thursday. I've got several GB of material that I can never find time to sit in front of my computer to read ...

You got a good deal. I ordered mine straight from Sony. I had no idea they were going to Market them thru Best Buy or the whole sale clubs, but I am happy with it regardless.

Borders also sells them, now I have to load it up. Ok, the books on the forum are all copyright free of course right?, where does one find awesome non fiction books online for free?

There's far more stuff available for free online that I ever imagined. I may never purchase another book again ... and my storage locker will thank me!
