Recover deleted photo/video

Does anyone know if it is possible to recover a video that was deleted from the iphone. I have an iphone 3GS and my grandson was watching a video of himself and he deleted it. Is it lost forever?

Thanks. I was actually able to get it back. I downloaded a program called Backup Extractor. I had just backed up my phone a couple of days before and this program allowed me to extract the video. I put it back on my phone too.
