Touch page turn glitch?

Recently my Sony PRS-650 quit after exactly one year of service. Really sad too that it only lasted as long as its warranty did. Good going Sony - that will be my first, and last, reader from you.

Went out and picked up a kobo touch. Nice feel and the e-Ink pearl is definitely up from the Sony's earlier generation e-ink. The customizable font styles, size and line spacing were a definite hit with me after the clunkier Sony display.

I have several hundred books (novels and pdfs mostly) stored on my old sd memory card so external memory capability was a must. Right off the bat I found my first negative with the Kobo - no categories. Everything is one, big, honking list that you navigate by searching. No fun at all!

The second was that while reading an e-book, about every second or third page turn would drop me back to the home screen. I am NOT pushing the home button. I am swiping or tapping the right side of the unit to turn pages. If i do my page turns quickly (once ever quarter second or so), it doesn't happen. Only when I actually take the time to read a page does it do this. After seeing this for one day I found it intolerable and returned it for exchange think some glitched hardware.

Now on the second one, and sure enough it is doing this too. This one was worse since it was doing it at every page turn. I've tried everything that is adjustable on this device to fix it (refresh counter, etc), but this is just plain bugged. It will be going back to the retailer as soon as I can get it there for a refund this time.

I am not sure if you folks have been experiencing this, and if you have, did you find a work-around for it? I really like the reader itself, but this dumping me back to the home screen at random times is intolerable and totally destroys the enjoyment of using this reader.

It's a known current issue with SD cards. New firmware update that should fix this is in Beta and may show up "soon". Not sure if anyone has found a fix outside of not using SD card currently.

got my fingers crossed that the new update will be last week!

Wish they would get it out allready, Cant help but think they are putting it on the back burner in favour of the vox...

Vox is a completely different team, so no back-burnering for the update

Seems you have some inside Kobo info there Sameer (I.e. you appear to be on the Kobo staff). Got an ETA from your developers on when we can hope for this really annoying bug being fixed?

Right now I am trying to jump thru hoops with my MicroSD card (doing really nasty things to it like aligning the FAT32 partition). I would much rather not have to do that simply to use my MSD card with this device. Please light a fire under your devs for us as this truly is a production issue here.

We try to avoid providing ETA's for anything, but this issue is top of mind and you can expect it to be fixed very soon.
