Content server and aldiko wont play nice

I have the content server running and can access it via browser fine but if I add the url as a catalog and click it I get asked for authentication which when entered does nothing . What am I doing wrong? All I want is an easy way to get books from my pc to the phone without messing about manually copying folders over to the sd xard all the time then importing.

Digest authentication is broken on Android. Turn off the password in the content server if you want to use it with an android device.

Awesome stuff thanks so much it now works perfectly . Serves me right for being an uberly paranoid security freak lol .

There is nothing wrong with being cautious.
In this case you have to make the choice: 1)Give up reading on the Android device 2)Weaken your security

I don't see why you should have to do either. This is not a 'unknown issue', why hasn't Android fixed it?
