Two Questions on a free daily newspaper

I don't know really this is the place but I suspect the second question is related with this section.

We want to deliver a free daily news site to our users.

I have two questions regarding this:

1) Is there a better way than sending the file as email to their Kindle email adresses? (We'll handle other ebook readers as we grow)

2) Can we track reading habits? Say we want to track how many people read a particular article in a MOBI file. Is this possible? Making asynchronous HTTP calls or etc?
