failed 8.23 installation
I've tried to download Calibre 8.23 for Windows twice, and when I try to run the installation I'm told that it's not a valid Windows Installer package. Is the Windows link to the wrong version?

worked fine for me, do you have an auto virus checker? if so disable it for the download

third time's the charm - this time it worked. We have metered internet, and sometimes things don't download right the first (few) times - maybe that was the issue.
