Calibre and Stanza question
OK. So, while deployed, I figured out how to wirelessly transfer books off Calibre (Mac version) to the Stanza app on my iPod Touch.
The question that I have is this: Is there a way to sync books to Stanza from Calibre, much the same way you can add and remove playlists in iTunes. Right now, I'm manually deleting the books off the Stanza app, and while it is too cumbersome right now, if I don't delete them right away after reading, I will have a bunch of read books that I would like to remove "in bulk". ![]() I also apologize for the cross-post, as I posted this in the devices forum, since I wasn't sure where to put it. ![]() Thanks!! |

Hmm how would Stanza know you want a book deleted?
Once you have the books in Stanza I believe the only way to delete them is manually unless you connect to iTunes and use the "Apps" tab on the sync screen to add or delete files. I bought a program called Goodreader that can sync with many types of servers and it reads practically anything but I have not tried it with epubs which is my personal favorite. The nice thing about Goodreader is that it can stay synced with a folder of books (or other documents) that you are reading and, the important part is, you can delete them on your iPod and they will be deleted from the folder when synced. Calibre would not like that if it was one of its internal folders though so the sync folder needs to be external to Calibre. I have set up a SugarSync free account and am syncing documents from work that are now available on my home mac, iPad, and iPod touch. Goodreader allows a Sugarsync server to by synced to it. And no I don't own stock in Goodreader or Sugarsync I just think they work good. Just like Calibre. Just was reading this thread and thought to add it to my post: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=153716 If you want to be mobile, you could set up a small library of your books with SugarSync or Dropbox and sync it with your iPod. They both have iPod apps for syncing. Otherwise Goodreader allows you to sync with a shared folder on your computer at home or work. Stanza can download books wirelessly, but if I remember right, it is not as easy and does not do a bidirectional sync. Just a thought. Happy reading.
